aiR
Use used Relativity aiR and developed a custom prompt to accomplish the goal.
BACKGROUND
Counsel for CEO under investigation needs to immediately summarize 5,000 responsive communications before the Employer demands their destruction.
SOLUTION
Rather than assembling a review team and relying on manual review, we used Relativity aiR to develop an AI-based prompt that incorporates strategic legal thinking into the email summary process. This system builds upon and mimics the expertise and thought process of a white-collar attorney specializing in internal investigations and familiar with relevant legal issues and subject matter expertise on the substantive issues. By embedding strategic thinking into the summaries generated by the prompt, they are considered privileged work product and can be retained, even if the original emails were ordered destroyed. This provided confidence that essential information was preserved for future reference without violating established precedent.
IMPLEMENTATION
The Generative AI prompt was developted to recognize specific legal considerations relevant to the case. This prompt was iteratively validated and revised to provide targeted responses and to ensure completeness of analysis. Relativity aiR analyzed the emails, extracting rationales, considerations, and providing explicit citations, similar to what a human attorney would do.
QC
Associates reviewed 5% of the summaries alongside the original emails, determining whether the summary correctly captured all key elements of the document relevant to the issues in the matter.
RESULTS
By leveraging the capabilites of Relativity aiR, all summaries were delivered ahead of client deadline. Counsel could then certify the deletion of all emails and remain confident that they had access to all essential information contained within them.
